The Investor Stream (subclass 188B) visa gives you a pathway to obtaining Australia Permanent visa. Once you qualify, you and your whole family can migrate under your application.
Overview of Requirements
| Points Test: | At least 65 points |
| Age Limit: | 55 years old
(This requirement can be waived by the nominating State or Territory) |
| Minimum Net Asset: | At least AUD$2.5 million (combined with spouse) |
| Experience: | 1. Minimum 3 years’ experience in managing one or more businesses or investments.
2. Successful record of investment or business activity. 3. Demonstrated high level of management skills. |
| Investment Requirement: | Invest $2.5 million into “complying investment” in Australia for 4 years. |
| English Requirement: | Not Mandatory |
Pathway to PR (Subclass 888B)
If you have held your complying investment for a period of 4 years whilst you are on your subclass 188B visa, and you have stayed in Australia for 2 out of 3 years immediately, you can apply for subclass 888B permanent visa.
Hints
To improve your chance of obtaining this visa, the key is to demonstrate your skills in managing your investment or business activity.
Note that “activity” does not necessarily mean you must have a lot of transactions. For example, we have clients who held a residential property and one investment property (which they held for many years), and they were still able to demonstrate that they have the requisite management skill and obtain this visa.
